General

Common Questions

Prepaid sub-metering allows tenants to pay for electricity or water before using it. Each unit has its own meter, and users top up with tokens, just like airtime. This helps prevent billing disputes and encourages responsible consumption.

We install a prepaid meter for each unit or property. Tenants buy tokens using our partnered recharge channels (banks, retailers, online, etc.) and enter them into their meter to load credit. Usage is tracked in real time.

We offer single and three-phase electricity meters, smart metering systems, water meters, and both integrated and split meter configurations. All meters are STS-compliant and SABS-approved.

Yes. Our solutions are ideal for flats, rental units, complexes, and business parks — with individual meters for each unit, making billing fair and transparent.

Owners

Property Owners & Landlords

Prepaid meters eliminate the risk of unpaid utility bills, remove the need for manual billing, and ensure faster cost recovery. Funds are securely transferred to the landlord or managing agent.

Yes. Whether it’s one flat or an entire complex, we can install a prepaid solution that fits your needs.

The property owner typically covers the cost of installation. We’ll provide a custom quote based on your setup and requirements.

Users

Tenants & End Users

You can purchase tokens at major retailers, banks, or online platforms. Once purchased, enter the 20-digit token into your meter or CIU keypad to load credit.

Most meters or CIUs display your remaining balance. Some models also have audible or visual alerts when credit is running low.

The meter automatically disconnects when credit runs out. You’ll need to top up and enter a valid token to restore supply.

Yes. Many meters show consumption history or real-time usage to help you monitor and manage your energy or water use.
